Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, who is losing significantly to former President Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary, expressed reservations about whether she will support Trump in the general election if he loses the primary.
In an interview with ABC News’ ‘This Week’ broadcast on the 18th, Candidate Haley avoided giving a definitive answer to the question, ‘Will she keep her party’s pledge to support whoever becomes the presidential candidate?’ “The thing I never think about is who I’m going to support, and the only thing I think about is how we’re going to win,” Haley said, recalling that she was running against former President Trump.
She also emphasized her will to complete the primary, saying, “I am not running away,” and “We will take this (presidential challenge) for a long time, and we will finish it.” Starting with the Iowa caucus on the 15th of last month, she gave victory to former President Trump in all three state primaries held so far, and in a local opinion poll conducted ahead of the primary in his home state of South Carolina on the 24th, she was behind Trump by 30% points.
