The New York State Legislature is pushing forward a bill to provide free menstrual products to private schools.<\/p>\n
The bill, which was introduced in March by New York State Senator Iwen Chu and Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal and recently passed both the House of Representatives, would require 6th-12th grade students to use sanitary products in the restrooms of private schools in New York State.<\/p>\n
Assemblyman Rosenthal said, \u201cAll students, regardless of the type or type of school they attend, should be able to live in an environment where sanitary products are easily accessible. It will help you focus,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
If the bill is signed by the governor, it will be implemented from July next year, and it will be distributed to each school in earnest from the 2024-25 semester soon.
